Instructed on behalf of an individual whose assets were frozen by the Serious Organised Crime Agency following a conviction for fraud in an overseas territory. Our review of the investment scheme required recreation of a very large number of investment accounts comprising millions of transactions over a 25-year period.

Investigating A Confidentiality Breach

A large multinational oil company suspected an employee of a continuing directorial relationship with his previous company, which was a vendor. This raised concerns of conflict of interest and confidentiality. Our investigation was comprised of on-site disk imaging of the suspect’s laptop and forensic analysis within the RGL secure laboratory, including document extraction, keyword searching and an export of web- and server-based emails.

Strengthening the Negotiation Position

“Through the application of Predictive Customer Analytics (PCA), the client realized a $30 million transaction cost savings by negotiating a purchase price reduction.”

In the due diligence process for an $80 million corporate acquisition, the purchaser questioned the revenue assessment and engaged RGL to apply a customer survivorship assessment. In contrast to the acquisition target’s revenue growth projection, the analysis found significant customer attrition due to service issues and discount pricing strategies being used to address service issues. Armed with these findings, the acquirer chose to proceed but successfully negotiated a reduction in price and entered into the deal better informed about risk and better prepared to manage the integration process.
