Tom RobinsonMSc (Econ)

Head of Regulatory & Competition Finance

Tom is an economist with in-depth knowledge of macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics and finance, including financial modelling and forecasting and the valuation of financial assets and derivatives.
He has recently completed a second MSc in Competition and Regulatory Economics. He, therefore, has a detailed understanding of the econometric techniques and economic theory relevant to the regulation of network industries and the assessment of competition (or lack thereof) in both regulated and unregulated markets. He has considerable knowledge of competition policy and its application and the methodologies employed by regulators and competition authorities. Furthermore, Tom has several years of experience of providing financial and economic analysis to clients in the context of regulatory and competition cases.
Tom also has experience managing large European Commission projects – the latest of which involves the evaluation of over 1,000 infrastructure projects around Europe. Previous projects have been evaluations of the European Commission's ERDF and an assessment of regulatory accounting standards in all of Europe's major railway companies.
